A Charity is celebrating the successful launch of a new space that will become a 'focus point' for the community.
Ulverston-based charity Community Solutions has opened a hub in the indoor market where they will host group activities.
The Hive aims to reconnect members of the community through a range of social circle support groups including the Bike Project which lost its base at the town's closed library - and by hosting regular lunchtime friendship sessions.
The space officially opened at noon on Saturday, May 11 and welcomed everyone to come along on Monday, May 13.
Alasdair Wilkinson-Marsh, chair of Community Solutions said: "We want the space to be open to other community groups in the area and give other organisations a place to promote themselves in a prominent town centre location.
"We will be bringing the bike project back on Tuesdays and host lunchtime drop-in sessions during the week.
"We hope it will become a focal point for the community and bring more activity to the town centre."
“We invite everyone to come down and see how we’re setting up the space and if anyone is interested in using The Hive please get in touch via our Facebook page"
The Hive will also hold exhibitions and displays by local artists and will be made available for other groups and organisations to use and promote themselves.
