Westmorland and Furness Council has put into place an urgent road closure at Askam-in-Furness.
Traffic will not be able to pass along Lots Road, from its junction with the A595, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 60 metres, with work starting immediately on Thursday May 16.
The road will be closed to allow Westmorland and Furness Highways Department to carry out carriageway repair works.
The work is expected to take one day. There is an alternative route suggested and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained.
However, access for Emergency Vehicles will not be maintained for the duration of these works.
