Westmorland and Furness Council has advised residents in Barrow that bin collections will be delayed.
General waste and recycling collections are set to be put back by one working day - and possibly for the rest of this week.
The local authority has advised that last Friday's round will have been done today (Tuesday, May 14).
The delays are reported to be due to staff sickness and bin lorries being fixed.
Residents are reminded that that are no collections on Mondays.
The council has apologised for the inconvenience and advised people to check the Westmorland and Furness Council Thriving Communities Facebook page for updates.
