Rumours of a young boy being injured in Barrow have been confirmed to be false by the police.
A social media post has reportedly been circulating online, claiming that a child was now at Barrow Police Station after being found in the town centre with injuries.
A spokesperson from Barrow Police shed light on the situation, ensuring the rumours did not gain any further traction.
They said: "We can assure the public that no such child is at the station and no such report has been received by police.
"The safety of children is of utmost importance to the police and any report of abuse, assault or neglect would be treated with due seriousness and investigated thoroughly."
