Do you know a Cumbria woman who has shone in her community?
Nominations are now open for the prestigious Cumbria Women of the Year Awards, acknowledging these everyday heroes.
The awards celebrate women who've made a large impact in their community, through activities such as fundraising, campaigning for causes, enhancing facilities, or improving quality of life for others.
At its core, the Cumbria Women of the Year Awards recognises the accomplishments of normal women in their respective areas.
With the generous contributions of sponsors like Nuclear Waste Services, Amentum UK, Muckle LLP, and Parks Motor Group, three new award categories have been introduced this year: Outstanding Contribution, Service to the Community, and Special Achievement.
The winners will be carefully selected by the Cumbria Women of the Year Committee, comprising of voluntary community representatives from across the county.
Interestingly, three of the committee members are previous award winners.
The awards lunch will take place at the Roundthorn Country House, Penrith in October.
This event is designed as a thank you for the women's hard work and success, offering them a special day in picturesque surroundings.
Nominating a deserving woman is extremely easy, with directions available on the Cumbria Women of the Year website.
