A WOMAN is to appear in court charged with assaulting and racially harassing an emergency worker in Barrow.
Wendy Steel, 51, of Beckside Road in Ulverston is said to have caused PC Patlewicz harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
The 51-year-old is also alleged to have assaulted the police constable by beating him on September 15 last year.
She will give an indication of plea to the charges at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on May 13.
