CRIME statistics have revealed there were over 500 crimes carried out across Barrow in March this year.
The Police UK website collate statistics from maps which pinpoint a precise location of a crime.
Cumbria Constabulary recorded 246 violence and sexual offences, by far the most popular crime committed by individuals.
*PLEASE NOTE* - The most recent statistics are from March because the information takes time to collate.
In March 2024, Barrow Central and Hindpool saw 165 overall crimes recorded.
The most reported crime was violence and sexual offences, totalling 78 This was followed by anti-social behaviour (18), shoplifting (18) and public order (17).
Other reported crimes were other theft (9), drugs (6), other crime (5), burglary (5), criminal damage and arson (5), vehicle crime (2), theft from a person (1) and possession of weapons (1).
Barrow Island and Walney saw 91 crimes recorded overall.
Similarly, the most reported crimes in these area were those in the violence and sexual offences category, totalling 44.
Other reported offences included shoplifting (9), public order (8), anti-social behaviour (7), criminal damage and arson (7), other theft (6), burglary (5), drugs (2), vehicle crime (1), other crime (1) and possession of weapons (1).
The area of Parkside, Hawcoat and Ormsgill saw 102 crimes committed.
There were 48 offences of violence and sexual offences, 12 offences of public order and 11 offences of anti-social behaviour.
Other reported crimes in the area included other theft (8), drugs (5), other crime (5), shoplifting (2), robbery (1) and burglary (1).
Finally, the district of Salthouse, Newbarns and Roose saw a total of 159 crimes.
Crime maps showed there were 76 offences for violence and sexual offences, 14 for anti-social behaviour and 13 for other theft.
Other reported offences in the area included criminal damage and arson (12), public order (12), other crime (11), vehicle crime (4), possession of weapons (4), burglary (3), shoplifting (3) and robbery (1).
