PLANS have been lodged by a Barrow bar owner to connect the property with a neighbouring former takeaway restaurant and make several changes to the venue.
Adam Healey has submitted a planning application to Westmorland and Furness Council to integrate Theatre Bar, on Cavendish Street in Barrow, with Wrapport.
In a planning document, it states the integration of Theatre Bar and Wrapport would provide an enlarged nightclub, a restaurant, a kitchen and a bar.
According to the plans, the site of the former takeaway will consist of a kitchen area and a ‘chill out’ bar area on the ground floor with a restaurant on the first floor.
Plans submitted also show in the integrated venue there will be a bar on the ground floor of Theatre Bar with a stage area, a general seating area and a V.I.P seating area on the second floor. Toilets will be located in the cellar, the first floor and the fourth floor.
Planning diagrams submitted also show there will be a rooftop terrace consisting of smoking and non-smoking areas on top of the venue.
According to an application form submitted by the applicant, it is proposed there could be 22 full-time employees – currently there are six. It also states there could be 16 part-time employees. There are seven currently, according to planning documents.
Planning diagrams show there will be connecting points between the currently separate properties.
The planning application is under consideration.
