The mayor of Barrow successfully braved a tub of icy water to raise money for charity last month.
Councillor Chris Altree took the plunge during Barrow AFC's final home game of the season on April 27.
During half-time, he and AFC mascot Bluey both put themselves through a dip in an ice bath in aid of CancerCare, raising over £715 in the process.
Rachel Warburton, events manager at Barrow AFC, said: “Hosting the Dare2Dip challenge at the SO Legal Stadium was an incredible experience.
"Witnessing the bravery of Chris and our beloved club mascot as they faced the icy water was truly inspiring - it's heartening to see our community come together to raise much-needed funds for CancerCare."
The charity, which has a centre on Duke Street in Barrow, works to provide free support to people affected by cancer and unexpected bereavement.
