NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of Westmorland and Furness’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The food hygiene rating Scheme reflects hygiene standards in food premises based on an inspection by the local authority food safety officers.
The following ratings have been given to three restaurants, cafes or canteens:
• Rated 5: Errols at Exchange House, Lake Road, Bowness On Windermere was rated on May 1
• Rated 5: Betulla's at 13 Queen Street, Ulverston was rated on April 2
• Rated 4: Beijing House at 181 Highgate, Kendal; rated on March 26
And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:
• Rated 5: The New Union Tavern at 159 Stricklandgate, Kendal was rated on April 9
Plus one rating for a takeaway:
• Rated 5: Jingling Lane Chippy at Jingling Lane, Kirkby Lonsdale was rated on April 19
