A MAN was caught driving on the streets of Barrow while nearly ten times over a specified controlled drug limit, a court heard.
Ricky Lamb, 47, of Goldsmith Street, Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers whilst drug driving in his Mercedes C Class on Holker Street on November 15 last year, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard.
Officers conducted a roadside drugs swipe on the defendant which showed he had been driving with excess amounts of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his system.
The lowest reading was 19µg/L – the legal limit is 2µg/L.
As a result of the findings and the defendant’s guilty plea at the first opportunity, magistrates disqualified Lamb from driving for 12 months on May 2.
He was also fined £125 and ordered to pay court costs of £85, as well as a £50 surcharge.
