A hospice in Ulverston is trying a new tactic to empower people in Cumbria.
St Mary's Hospice are launching a Sporting Memories club from next month, working in tandem with a charity that helps older people to 'reminisce, replay and reconnect through the power of sport and physical activity'.
In partnership with Active Cumbria, the group will open its doors for the first time on June 18 at the hospice's Community Hub on Duke Street in Barrow.
The aim is to create a 'supportive and structured' environment where the community can come together and get active, or share stories surrounding their past sporting glory.
