A former bank located at the heart of Ulverston is set to go under the hammer at the end of this month.
The Old Natwest Bank on Queen Street is described as an ‘imposing’ Grade II listed building with considerable potential for development.
The building is being taken to market by Auction House Cumbria with a guide price of £425,000 plus fees.
Inside, the building comprises of a huge, vacant banking hall, with stunning original features, a basement and ancillary rooms, as well as two generous sized apartments.
The first exclusive apartment, number 2a, is located on the first floor and is made up of a hall, a combined lounge and dining room, a kitchen, a master bedroom and ensuite, plus a further two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
The second floor apartment, called 2b, features a hall, lounge, dining room, kitchen, master room with ensuite as well as a second and third bedroom plus a shared bathroom.
Both apartments come with an allocated parking space and are both currently tenanted to long standing residents.
With 2a let at £1400 and 2b let at £1100 per calendar month, the combined rent produces an income of circa £30,000 a year.
The old bank will appear at a noon auction that will take place at The Halston Hotel on Warwick Road in Carlisle on May 30.
The estate agents said the property offers development potential subject to the necessary planning approvals for either residential or commercial use.
The land adjacent is also being offered in the auction with a Guide Price of £150,000 plus. They will be first offered as individual lots and then as a combined sale.
