AN unattended bonfire could have 'easily spread' before firefighters intervened.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue were called out to a fire in the open along a beach path on Walney.
Firefighters from Walney Fire Station were called to the bonfire that had been lit at Biggar Bank Road.
Posting on social media, Walney Fire Station said: "With the surrounding Gorse dry it could have easily spread.
"This is the fifth call this month so far with the crew attending a Domestic Property Fire, Commercial Alarms and Small Fires.
