BOSSES of a Cumbria attraction are delighted to have been hailed as one of the best family friendly museums in Europe.
The World of Beatrix Potter was ranked in the number 10 spot last week, according to new data from online booking travel company Omio.
Using TripAdvisor data, Omio filtered museums around Europe based on categories labelled ‘Children’s Museums’ and ‘Good for kids’.
The results were then ranked by travellers’ favourites to determine the top 10.

Over the years, the Attraction has expanded with significant investment to their gold medal winning Chelsea Flower Show Peter Rabbit Garden, a theatre show which toured to the West End and Far East, two gift shops, nursery shop, café, studio dining space and online shopping.
Stacey McShane, Chief Operating Officer said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised in the top ten of family friendly museums across Europe.
“We are the only Attraction in Cumbria to receive this accolade, which is a testament to the amazing artistic vision our Directors Roger Glossop and Charlotte Scott had over 30 years ago when they created such a special and unique Attraction.
“It also acknowledges the hard work, dedication and passion invested by all our staff into this very special business in the heart of the Lake District.”
The Bowness-on-Windermere tourist hotspot has won acclaim over the years for bringing Beatrix Potter’s stories to life through the power of 3D.
Roger Glossop, who first opened the doors to the museum back in 1991 to a crowd of over 700 people, said: “Beatrix Potter has dominated our lives for the last 33 years in a good way.
"From the day we opened the door, Beatrix Potter has taken us on an exhilarating journey.
“We couldn’t have aligned our creative and business life with a more original, entrepreneurial, and visionary woman.”
Sarah Melhuish, Marketing Manager, added: “It is the attention to detail that has made the Attraction an integral part of the Lake District tourist experience.
"We really are the experts in everything Beatrix Potter and this appeals to visitors from all corners of the globe.”
