THE writer of the Bingo Hall Detectives series Jonathan Whitelaw will launch his new book in a hotel in Bowness.
The Burn How Garden House Hotel will host the launch party for The Concert Hall Killer in May.
This is the third book in the Bingo Hall Detectives, which sees Penrith pensioner Amita Khatri and her son-in-law Jason deal with murder, mayhem and mischief around the Lake District and beyond.
Whitelaw is looking forward to celebrating the novel in its home country: "The Lake District and Cumbria as a whole has always felt like home for me. While I grew up in Glasgow and now live 5,000 miles away in Alberta, Canada, I never pass up the chance to come back," he said.
“I’ve been very lucky that the people of Cumbria and readers all over the world have taken the Bingo Hall Detectives characters to heart. Everywhere I go I’m always asked why I chose to set the books here. The simple answer is, there was nowhere else I wanted more."
Jonathan’s book launch will be on Thursday May 16 at 10.30am, and everyone is welcome. He will talk about his writing, and sign copies of the new book.
