With the massive influx, it is set to be a big weekend for a number of hotels in the town as they look to accommodate the high number of visitors.

The likes of the King Alfred Hotel, found on Ocean Road, confirmed that: "All of our hotel rooms have already sold out for the 8th June!"

It is the same story for the majority of businesses, with the quickly dwindling spaces a sign that the celebrations for the Hairy Biker are going to be a big draw for Barrow.

At the time of writing, Booking.com detailed that at least 95% of hotels and other places to stay had already run out of available rooms.

For Phil Simpson, the Managing Director at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel on Abbey Road, the popularity of the events is a sign of how treasured Myers was to countless people.

Mr Simpson said: "I'm delighted to say that our hotel is completely full on the 8th June and, we believe, the vast majority of our guests are staying with us for the Dave Day event, and to pay tribute to the life and career of Dave Myers.

"Dave Day promises to be a fantastic event to celebrate the life of this very special Barrovian."

The Duke has grown to have a special connection to Myers, making the fact that they will be full on the day even more meaningful.

"Dave Myers was a regular visitor to the Duke for many years up until he moved away from the area.

"He was on first name terms with most of our serving staff, enjoyed our beer and after dining with us was often extremely complimentary towards our kitchen staff.

"He was a genuinely lovely man - I know a lot of our staff and management were extremely saddened to learn of his passing a few weeks ago, and we look forward to honouring his name alongside his friends, fans and family on June 8th."
