A LIFEBOAT that drifted across Morecambe Bay and into Heysham Channel was picked up by the RNLI.
Volunteers from Morecambe RNLI said that they were called to service to reports of a ship's lifeboat drifting across the channel possibly with people on board at 2.07pm on Wednesday, April 10.

A government inspector has ordered the removal of lighting posts, part of a seating and play area as well as hot tubs from land to the west of Garr Lane in Torver in connection with The Wilson Arms.

Barrow Raiders have confirmed that they will be putting on a concert in tribute to Dave Myers.
The rugby club will act as the end point of 'Dave Day' on June 8, which will see up to 10,000 motorbike enthusiasts ride from London to Barrow in memory of the beloved TV personality.

Hairy Bikers: Over 5,000 ride in Yorkshire in memory of Dave Myers
THOUSANDS of motorcyclists rode to honour the legacy of Barrow-born Hairy Biker Dave Myers.
The bikers gathered in Beverley before setting off to Scarborough following a similar route to one Dave took with his co-star Si King in 2021 for an episode of Hairy Bikers Go North.

Incident levels highest since 2015 at Appleby Horse Fair
IN 2023, Appleby Fair saw the highest number of arrests and animal welfare incidents since 2015, partly attributed to hot temperatures and a higher presence of authorities.
