Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor of Judea, and told him He had come into this world to bear witness to the truth. Dismissively Pilate remarked ‘What is truth?’
It’s a question many try to avoid while more and more people today are looking for answers. What is the truth about the Covid pandemic, terrorism, wars, suffering, child trafficking, climate change, sex and gender, UAPs, political corruption, AI and the worldwide control exerted by the wealthiest 1% of of the population over the rest of humanity?
Sadly people no longer know who to vote for or who to trust. Is the rise of blatant self-interest at leadership levels all across the globe a symptom of a civilisation in decline? Or, as Paul said, do we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places?
Jesus said the truth will set you free. His followers staked their lives on the truth that He was raised from death as the Saviour of the world. What truth are we prepared to stake our life on?
Currently over 300 million Christians worldwide face discrimination, persecution, violence and death each day (www.opendoorsuk.org) because they put their faith in the same truth that Jesus taught. People do not put their lives on the line without a very good reason.
Perhaps it’s time to question what really matters: what is the one truth that will set us free from fear and uncertainty and offer real solid hope for humanity’s future?
