THOUSANDS of motorcyclists rode to honour the legacy of Barrow-born Hairy Biker Dave Myers.
The bikers gathered in Beverley before setting off to Scarborough following a similar route to one Dave took with his co-star Si King in 2021 for an episode of Hairy Bikers Go North.
One of the marshals of that event, Paul Quigley, said between five and six thousand bikers attended. The bikers also raised £1,700 for cancer research.
After the ride-out tribute to Dave, Si put out a video message on The Hairy Bikers Facebook page thanking those who attended.
He said: "I'm compelled to say an enormous thank you because what happened at the Ride Out in memoriam for Dave yesterday was nothing more than astounding - six thousand of you turned out as a sign of solidarity and love and affection for the bikers but particularly for Dave. It ended in Scarborough and I heard you had a very, thoroughly good time, and Dave would have loved it."
Si said Dave's wife Lily, his family, his close friends and himself gave a 'massive, massive thank you' to the bikers and that they were touched by the ride out.

"Please don't for one second think it's gone unnoticed," Si added. "Love to you all, I'm so pleased you had a lovely day."
Before the ride-out Si sent another message from the Hairy Bikers account saying that Dave 'would have loved' the tribute.
Dave died on February 28 aged 66 years old from cancer.
He was born in Barrow and met Si in the mid-90s. He started his TV career when he was in his 40s, doing cooking and travelling shows with Si. They also published over 25 cookbooks together, and ran the podcast 'Agony Uncles' in which he first shared that he had cancer in May 2022.
