A singing group based in Barrow is going to be able to reach more people than ever after becoming a CIC.
Be.Vocal, led by professional singer Becki Fishwick, was officially named as a Community Interest Company on Saturday, March 30.

CICs were first established in the UK in 2005 and are deemed to operate in a manner which provides a benefit to the community they serve.
Becki said: "This means we can offer our services more widely and look to get funded opportunities to offer our services to those who may not be able to afford or access a singing club or choir.
"It’s been a vision of mine for a long time so I’m delighted it’s finally happened!"
Be.Vocal offers singing lessons, workshops and holiday clubs for children aged five to 16 years old.
The new accreditation means that any profits generated through the group will be used to further benefit the local area.
