A WOMAN has been ordered to wear an alcohol tag after she was found guilty of assaulting a man.

Brittany Holmes denied that she assaulted a man by beating him on July 23.

But the 24-year-old was found guilty of the offence following a trial at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.

Holmes, of Barrow's Rawlinson Street, was sentenced to a community order requiring her to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

The defendant was also told to abstain from alcohol for 40 days under monitoring from an alcohol tag.

The court ordered her to pay £300 in prosecution costs.

Holmes was convicted of assaulting two police officers last year and told to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
