A first look at the Roxy's new colour scheme is now possible as the scaffolding at Ulverston's historic cinema is almost fully off.
The Roxy Collective began the first phase of repairs and renovations at the building, which dates back to 1937, in summer 2023.
Thanks to donations from the local community, general public, private donors and various funding bodies, the collective was able to buy the property and bring it back to life.
This includes opening up previously closed-off areas to the general public.
In recent days, the scaffolding that has blighted the cinema front has been coming down piece by piece.
A spokesperson for the Roxy collective said: "We are delighted that the scaffolding is finally coming down after undertaking structural repairs to the building, fixing the roof and installing solar panels.
"The majority of the new paint work and colour scheme is also finished and now that the scaffolding is almost down you can start to see our new colour scheme and bold logo for the building.
"We have also installed a new sign on the front of the building at the top, as a tribute to the original neon Roxy sign when it was first built in 1937.
"This will eventually be back lit so that the sign can be seen clearly from the A590 and around Ulverston.
The exterior has gotten a re-vamp by Ulverston's own Chris Dorning - an artist who was a contestant on Landscape Artist Of The Year.
In February, the old canopy was removed with solar panels installed on the roof.
A spokesperson added: "We hope that these changes are seen by the locals as a new lease of life for the building and a statement of intent of how we continue to not only restore and preserve the building but also modernise it where needed and develop its offering to the community.
Once the scaffolding is fully down the new paintwork will continue on the ground floor and the focus will shift to updating the entrance of the building.
The Roxy Collective has encouraged people to visit the Facebook page for updates.
