A new pair of wines have been launched, with 50p from every bottle sold donated to a Lake District mountain rescue charity.
EWGA Wines, in collaboration with the Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, has introduced The Pikes.
It comprises of a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and a Merlot.
The managing director of EWGA Wines, Adrian Moeckell, said: "For every bottle of The Pikes sold, we will donate 50p to Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT), who rescue 100s of mountaineers in the central Lake District every year."
The relationship between the companies formed after EWGA Wines donated what they would have spent on Christmas cards to LAMRT, aligning with their sustainability policy.
The Pikes is the result of many discussions between the two groups.
Funds raised from the sale of The Pikes will support the rescue operations of the LAMRT, a team of 'professional volunteers' serving the central Lake District area.
The team annually carries out over 100 rescue missions, ensuring the safety of mountaineers.
In addition to supporting the rescue operations, The Pikes also aids in raising awareness for the Adventure Smart initiative, which is promoted by LAMRT.
The initiative encourages mountaineers to be adequately prepared by considering their gear, understanding the weather, and having appropriate skills.
For this philanthropic project, EWGA Wines sought the best label designs with high-quality wine and found both with Viña de Aguirre, a family-owned winery in Chile.
They decided on an elegant artwork inspired by The Langdale Pikes for the labels.
The wine, a Merlot and a Sauvignon Blanc, are a result of vineyards spanning from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, with each bottle representing the very best of Chilean winemaking.
Choosing The Pikes helps not only support mountain rescue efforts in the Lake District but also boosts the Adventure Smart initiative.
The Pikes range is available for list in restaurants, shops, or venues.
