A WOMAN has been sentenced for failing to stop after causing a road traffic collision while over three times the legal drink driving limit.
Janine McClure was drink driving when she drove off after crashing her BMW 120d into a BMW three-series on July 17 2023, South Cumbria Magistrates Court heard.
The 46-year-old, of Holme Lane in Allithwaite, was stopped by officers on Prince Street in Dalton and asked to do a roadside breath test.
Inquiries revealed the lowest reading the defendant gave was 120 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
McClure pleaded guilty to the two charges at South Cumbria Magistrates on January 31.
She was sentenced on February 28 after probation completed a pre-sentence report.
Magistrates sentenced McClure to a 12-month community order with requirements to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
She was also disqualified from driving for a period of 35 months and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge.
