To celebrate Cumbria Tourism's 50th anniversary, a new 'Cumbrian Gold' lager has been handcrafted by Hawkshead Brewery.
The Staveley-based firm has teamed up with the tourism organisation to make the special lager, with 10p from each 330ml bottle sold going to Cumbria Tourism's 50th Anniversary Fund.
This recently-created charity, managed by Cumbria Community Foundation, aims to jumpstart careers in the regional tourism and hospitality industry by funding specialist equipment, study materials, travel costs, and more.
The special anniversary-themed 'Cumbrian Gold' is also available in casks and kegs for the local hospitality sector.
This allows tourism businesses to provide the celebratory drink to clients, supporting the fundraising effort in the process.
Celebrating five decades of supporting Cumbria's world-class tourism industry in 2024, Cumbria Tourism's managing director, Gill Haigh said: "Over the past 50 years, high quality, local products have been an integral part of the unique and memorable experiences that make a visit to the Lake District, Cumbria so special.
"We're thrilled to be teaming up with Hawkshead Brewery to launch the new 'Cumbrian Gold' beer, not only to celebrate the legacy of homegrown producers and makers across our visitor economy, but also to help raise money to support the next generation of tourism talent."
Expressing the brewery's support, Susan Crabtree, managing director of Hawkshead Brewery, said: "Cumbria Tourism plays a vital role in boosting the economy of this fantastic area, and as a local business, we're incredibly supportive of all the work that they do.
"As they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, we're delighted to collaborate on the launch of this limited-edition Cumbrian Gold lager, for which we will donate 10p from the sale of each bottle sold to the 50th anniversary charity fund.
"This will all go towards providing financial support for those looking to pursue careers in the tourism industry in our county, which we're very pleased to encourage."
The new 'Cumbrian Gold' beer is available to purchase online or at The Beer Hall in Staveley.
