A VIDEO taken by a hiking influencer of a Lake District route has been viewed by millions of people on Instagram and TikTok.
Video creator Sam Culley shares videos of hikes in different parts of the UK but one he published on February 18 in the Lake District received a particularly large amount of attention.
His Instagram reel has reached 1.4 million people as of February 23, and his TikTok has been seen by 455,200. Sam's six-mile hike included waterfalls Skelwith Force and Colwith Force via a section of the Cumbrian Way.
He then made his way to Cathedral Cave, which he called 'absolutely massive' and 'definitely something worth visiting while in the Lake District.' Sam finished his circular hike by walking through Little Langdale and finishing at Elterwater.
As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK, the Lake District receives a lot of attention through social media, particularly going into spring and summer. According to Google Trends, searches using 'Lake District' as a key term are around double now what they were at the start of December - after an initial spike due to the snowfall at the beginning of that month.
