A team of police officers found themselves with an unexpected and unusual guest on the backseat of their car.
The South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) took to social media on Thursday afternoon to share the unorthodox work they had been carrying out.
A young lamb in the area had wandered into the middle of the road, with officers acting quickly to ensure that it remained unharmed.
A spokesperson from the NPT said: "Look who got in the back of our car today!
"[The lamb was] rescued off the road and put back in its field and was soon reunited with mum."
