AN emergency closure has been put in place due to the 'dangerous' condition of a road.
Westmorland and Furness Council are prohibiting all traffic along the section of the C5033 near Bardsea from its junction with White Gill Lane, extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately less than a mile (1.2km).
The notice for the temporary emergency road closure was put in place because of the 'likelihood of danger to the public.'
This notice will be in force for a period of up to 21 days from February 14 as and when the relevant signs are displayed.
An alternative route can be found via Red Lane, C5038 and White Gill Lane.
Due to the nature of the works, it is not possible to maintain access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists through the extent of the temporary road closure.
