A disabled man from Barrow is livid after paying for his ASDA shopping to be express delivered by Uber Eats only for it 'go missing'.
Mr Oliver, from Walney, ordered items worth around £45 on January 26.
The goods were set to be delivered in a time slot between 12pm and 1pm.
The driver collected the items from the Barrow store at Walney Road at 12.50pm, said Mr Oliver.
He then left the store however Mr Oliver reported that the order was then cancelled twenty minutes later.
The shopping was neither delivered nor returned to the store, he said.
"I'm fuming," said Mr Oliver. "I won't be using them again. It's not good enough.
"The driver is on CCTV collecting my items however 20 minutes later he cancelled the other and I never got my shopping.
"ASDA has agreed to refund the money, which is fair play, however it takes three to seven working days to go through which means I'm still out of pocket - and what if I had to order another shop in the meantime?
"I'm disabled however I could be an old woman or a more vulnerable person and if this driver is still allowed to deliver ASDA items it's a scam.
"I have been told that ASDA are investigating it in-house however I was told to contact Uber Eats which was a nightmare.
"I didn't get anywhere with them. They kept asking me the same questions over and over again.
"I don't know if he is still delivering to others. I was told that any information related to delivery drivers was confidential.
"I asked to speak to a manager and in the end I was passed from pillar to post and the phone got put down on me.
"It's frustrating and I feel like once they get your money they don't care."
ASDA has confirmed that the order was packed in-store by staff and was successfully collected by Uber Eats for delivery - who are then responsible for making sure it arrives with the customer.
The supermarket chain said that as the driver doesn’t deliver solely for Asda, nor is employed by Asda, the store can only report the incident to Uber Eats which it has done.
An Asda spokesperson further confirmed that Asda is in contact with Mr Oliver and have offered to refund the order.
The Mail was unable to reach Uber Eats for comment.
