A MAN accused of using his ex-wife's name to apply for a loan has been cleared of wrongdoing.
James Dowds faced two charges of fraud by false representation after he was alleged to have applied for a loan through a finance company using the name of his former spouse.
According to court papers, the 39-year-old Barrow man was said to have applied for a loan through V12 Partner Finance intending to make a gain by buying from website Gear4Music without paying for the order.
Mr Dowds, of Thwaite Street, denied the fraud and had his case dropped after prosecutors offered no evidence at Preston Crown Court.
