A WOMAN has had a mandatory disqualification imposed and been fined after she was caught driving on the streets of Barrow while five times over a legal drug driving limit.
Karen Johnson, of Penrith Street in Barrow, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to driving her Volkswagen Golf above the legal specified controlled drug limit on October 13 last year.
The 45-year-old was stopped by police on Fenman Close where they conducted a roadside drugs test.
Her lowest reading showed she had been driving with 10 ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood. The legal limit is 2 ug/L.
Magistrates at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on January 4 banned Johnson from driving for 12 months and ordered that she pay a £120 fine.
She was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £48 victim surcharge.
