GENEROUS customers at a Tesco store have donated gifts to children and young people in need ahead of Christmas.
The store in Roose has organised a collection of toys and has shared these with the charity Family Action in Barrow.
Family Action is a voluntary organisation that helps provide practical, emotional and financial support to those experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the country.
Every year, Tesco Superstore puts on the toy collection, and the organisation distributes them to families in town.
This is the fourth year they have collaborated together, raising three trolleys with big and small gifts.
Julie Rigg, team manager of Tesco in Roose, said the amount of donations shows the 'great community spirit.'
"Everybody is struggling this year, and it shows the generosity of the community. They are probably struggling themselves and have donated," she said.
"We always get a good amount of donations. To get the same amount of toys as the previous years is amazing, considering the situation this year. A big thank you to all the community - it is massive to us.
"Family Action is amazed and overwhelmed with the community and how they have come together this time of the year."
