A Christmas special of The Hairy Bikers has been announced as Dave Myers gives an update on his health.
Mr Myers presents his food show The Hairy Bikers with co-star Si King.
The two will be back on screens this festive season with a Christmas special of their program.
During this special episode, the pair search for seasonal ingredients for a festive banquet.
The feast is a thank you to the myriad of people who have played a part in Myers’ journey through this challenging time.
From the medical team who administered his treatment to the food producers who rekindled his love for food, and his family and friends who have provided support through the darkest days.
Mr Myers, diagnosed with cancer in March 2022, has undergone more than 30 chemotherapy sessions as part of his battle against the disease.
After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on his health, the 66-year-old presenter has returned to television this year to continue his work, while still fighting his illness.
Discussing the filming experience, Mr Myers said: "I’ve been having cancer treatment and we’ve just finished filming a series.
"The crew made so many compromises to suit me; they’d give me a chair if I’d been standing.
"I was terribly grateful. Without them, I couldn’t have done it."
"We wanted it to be a celebration that 18 months since my diagnosis I’m still here.
"I’ve done a series with my best mate, we’re back on the bikes, we’ve written a new book... We’ve had a bloody good time."
Mr Myers' cancer journey was publicly disclosed for the first time in May 2021 when he announced on a podcast that he needed to take a break from work to undergo chemotherapy.
He said: "Anyway Kingy, I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently.
"And basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me."
The BBC has confirmed that The Hairy Bikers are "back on their bikes after nearly a two year break in The Hairy Bikers: Coming Home For Christmas".
The Hairy Bikers: Coming Home for Christmas is set to air on BBC Two on December 19.
