BARROW'S Natural Christmas Market is all set for Christmas shoppers this weekend who can meet the makers of their gifts.
Visitors are encouraged to go along to Barrow Outdoor Market from 10am this Saturday, December 9 to celebrate and sample local produce.
There will be a chance for those buying gifts to meet the makers of everything from honey to bath bombs and prosecco to burgers.
There will also be the opportunity to meet a Shetland pony, Derbyshire Gritstone sheep and many other rare animal breeds.
The event is a partnership between Westmorland and Furness Council, Barrow BID and Rare Breeds Survival Trust and will be set to the backdrop of live entertainment from Live South Lakes Rock School and L'al Tethera Folk Band.
Rare Breeds Survival Trust Chief Executive Christopher Price said: "Every person who buys native breed produce this Christmas will be helping create the vital markets needed for these farmers to carry on this work.
"It’s a great way to enjoy delicious food in the knowledge that you are making a real difference to the survival of these irreplaceable native breeds, and we look forward to seeing people at Barrow Natural Christmas Market for the opportunity to sample local produce and celebrate the people who make it."
The Natural Christmas Market will take place 10am - 4pm on December 9 at Barrow Outdoor Market and Portland Walk.
