A WORKER from Carlisle’s McVitie’s biscuit factory has been sentenced after he admitted assaulting two colleagues.
The bust-up happened as 37-year-old Robert Bickley was working on the factory’s custard cream production line on July 5, magistrates at the city’s Rickergate court heard.
The defendant admitted two assaults.
He pleaded guilty to a common assault, relating to behaviour that put a colleague in fear of violence; and an assault by beating.
After hearing the details, magistrates gave the defendant, of Denton Mill Close, Denton Holme, a one year community order. It includes 40 hours of unpaid work and up to 10 days of rehabilitation.
He must also pay £50 compensation to one of the assault victims and costs of £85 as well as a £114 victim surcharge. The prosecution withdrew a third alleged assault against a not her colleague which the defendant denied.
