Christmas has officially arrived at number two Mountbarrow Way in Ulverston.

Every evening from now until Christmas, this spectacular Christmas extravaganza will be lighting up our cold Winter nights.

Om the evening ofNovember 24, they had an official light switch on and showed off their spectacular efforts.

Giant gingerbread men welcome you forward, striped candy canes and bright lights twinkle, the whole house and drive has been transformed into a Christmas Wonderland.

The dazzling decorations are also helping to raise money for St Mary’s Hospice as a charity box outside means anyone can donate.

The lady behind the lights, Jayne Wylie, decorates her house every year but this time it is bigger than ever before.

“We started planning the decorations on Boxing Day last year,” she said. “But it really started in August when we began painting boards and things. The house has been in a state of turmoil for months."

It took three days for Jayne to get all of her decorations outside and in position but it seems to be paying off as lots of people have come to visit already.

Among the festive explosion, there is also a small post box for children to post their letters and wish lists in.

“I will gladly pass them onto Santa,” Jayne said. “We love to see all the children’s faces light up.  The adults too! There have been lots of pictures and videos taken.”

Jayne said she chose to raise money for St Mary’s because it is a massive part of the local community.

With four weeks to go, Jayne hopes people are feeling generous. She said any donation would be amazing, especially with so many people struggling.
