A TEENAGER has been ordered to pay compensation for a racially aggravated offence.
Dylan Stevens, of Baker Close in Dalton-, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to racial/religiously aggravated intentional harassment when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on November 16.
By indicating his plea, the 19-year-old admitted that his behaviour caused Ozan Atesogullari harassment, alarm or distress on November 24 last year in Dalton.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with the requirement of undertaking 50 hours unpaid work for the racial element of the offence.
He was also ordered to pay £250 in compensation to Mr Atesogullari as well as court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114 in full by December 14.
