A BARROW man has been slapped with a driving ban and fine after being caught drug driving.
George Bates, of Rawlinson Street, was driving a Volkswagen Golf on Main Street in Haverigg when he was pulled over by police on May 13 this year, South Cumbria Magistrates Court heard.
Cumbria Police conducted a roadside drug test and found the 29-year-old had cocaine in his system having recorded a reading of 29 micrograms.
Magistrates at South Cumbria Magistrates Court ordered a mandatory 12-month driving disqualification and further penalised him with a £80 fine.
He was also required to pay £85 in court costs and a £32 surcharge in full within 28 days.
