A 20-YEAR-OLD motorist has been disqualified from driving and issued with a community order for drink driving and other road traffic offences.
Jason Scott, of Derbyshire Road in Barrow, failed to stop his Audi A3 after he caused damage to a roundabout on Hollywood Park on October 18 this year, South Cumbria Magistrates Court heard.
When eventually stopped by police on Hindpool Road, he was found to have been driving while over the legal drink driving limit, having recorded a lowest reading of 46 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35.
He also admitted to driving in a public place without due care and attention.
On November 6, magistrates sentenced him to a 14-month community order with one requirement of a four week electronically monitored curfew between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
He was also disqualified from driving for a period of 14 months and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
