A 40-year-old bodybuilder has earned the titles of Miss Universe and Miss Britain in two championships.
Kelsey Yung has had an amazing return after her five-year break in the bodybuilding world following her participation in the UK International Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (IBFA) and National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association (NABBA) championships this month.
The barber from Barrow scoped the title of Miss Toned Figure of 2023 on the NABBA Universe championship in Bradford, which saw competitors from all around the world fighting for a title.
In addition to this title, Kelsey also received two titles at the UK IBFA in Gateshead, including the Miss IBFA British Champion and the Best Overall Champion.
Kelsey Yung said she was 'over the moon' with all her wins this season.
She said: "NABBA was the first competition I set off with when I started this sport.
"I have competed in the NABBA universe six times, and I have come second place three times, so it felt amazing winning it.
"The Miss Universe was definitely my biggest win, and it still hasn’t sunk in."
Mrs Yung said she 'never goes with expectations' for the competitions.
She said: "You just go in and you don't know who is going to turn up and what countries are going to be there."
She has also thanked her family and sponsors for the 'support' she has received throughout her season.
"My family are the most amazing people in my life, and they certainly keep me going. My little girl has loved coming along to my competitions, they are long days, and she has been amazing throughout.
"My sponsors, Bikini Love, Transform Physiques, Infinity Gym, Physique Spray Tan, Hustle, Jamie-Leigh, Macrodiner and Jb Customs, mean the world to me and have supported me throughout my bodybuilding journey."
The bodybuilder concluded by saying she will 'definitely' return to the competitions next year.
