A former waffle shop in Milnthorpe has been transformed by a surgical dental nurse who has set up her very own aesthetics clinic in her hometown after seeing clients for miles around.
Sarah Shuttleworth, 41, has three children aged 10, 16 and 17 and has worked as a surgical dental nurse, as well as assisting a surgical dentist, for 24 years at Crossbank Dental Care in Kendal.
She is now also an Advanced Aesthetic Practitioner and has worked at Park Lane Beauty Salon, however, has travelled as far as Manchester to work in clinics
Her new clinic, Aesthetics by Sarah, is located on The Old Bakehouse, Main Street in Milnthorpe.
The official opening event takes place from noon on Friday (October 27) to (Saturday October 28).
Sarah has utilised all her medical training, experience dealing with clients and her passion for making people feel good into the new clinic.
She said: "Around 2015 we began to use plasma technology to aid healing when carrying out complex dental surgery.
"This led us on to using plasma in facials using Meso therapy techniques. This ignited my interest and passion in helping patients feel and look great.
"I have continued my training to be able to confidently offer a whole range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments and I'm currently close to achieving one of the only recognised qualifications in aesthetic practice - the level 7.
"After the past few years, traveling to work in clinics as far as Manchester, I’m very excited to be opening up in my hometown and can’t wait to welcome my existing clients who have also become great friends throughout my journey - and of course my new ones as everyone is welcome.
"My aim is to help people feel and look great. There is nothing more satisfying and rewarding than to watch a client's confidence grow following treatments."
The building once saw a very different life as a waffle shop known as Brayden's Waffle Mania.
The building has been transformed by local skilled tradesmen to turn it into what Sarah described on Facebook as a 'charming aesthetic haven'.
Sarah added: "I was saying to my ten-year-old, it's hard to imagine what it looks like now when we were in here not that long ago buying a Nutella waffle.
"The tradesmen have worked so hard to provide a safe, clinical and warm environment suitable for people's aesthetic needs.
"I was really happy as the building is a decent size - so much so we're now looking at getting a nail bar.
"We have a nice waiting room and a partition for privacy so we can provide in-depth consultations as that is the most important part of the process.
"All my clients will get a thorough treatment plan with all their possible options to help them reach their aesthetic goals.
"Plus, we're teaming up with experienced prescribers to offer dedicated monthly wrinkle-smoothing clinics and feel-good vitamin-boosting sessions - so there's lots more to come.
