A MAN allegedly trying to drive while intoxicated was detained by an off-duty officer in the early hours of the morning.
Police were contacted at 12.39am in Ambleside on 12 October to the report of a road-related offence.
It was reported a man was attempting to get behind the wheel whilst intoxicated.
He was detained by an off-duty officer whilst officers arrived.
He was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide and taken to police custody where officers became aware of a pre-existing injury, and he was de-arrested and taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
