AN APPLICATION has been submitted to convert the grade-II ancillary accommodation associated with Latham House in Broughton into a holiday let.
The application was submitted to the Lake District National Park Authority on October 6. According to the design and access statement, the house is in the north-east corner of the market square. It is within the Broughton-in-Furness Conservation Area and both the property and the ancillary building are grade II listed as part of the terrace of houses bordering the corner of the square.
The statement continues: "The ancillary building was originally approved for use as a 'grandad flat.' Due to recent circumstances this use is no longer required and the applicants would therefore like to make use of the ancillary building by changing its use and renting it out as a holiday let."
