A TRADITIONAL, dog-friendly pub is reopening under new ownership this weekend.
The Old John Peel Inn pub on Rayrigg Road in Bowness-, had been closed for around five months.
However Glen Brown, 36, and partner Claire Davies, 34, hope to bring the pub back to its former glory when they officially reopen to the public on Saturday.
There will be two live acts including classics from Coldplay, Gerry Cinnamon and Oasis performed by Ryan Davidson at 2pm and a performance from Bailey Moore later at 8pm.
A pie supper will be served in between for people wanting a bite to eat while the kitchen is getting ready to be complete.
Claire said: “We’ll be offering live music, a great drink selection including real cask and proper pub grub.
“We have changed the layout of the pub by bringing the pool table down into the main bar area, opening up the back room for a more relaxed dining experienced and created more space for our live acts.
“We’ve also painted the whole pub giving it a fresh but traditional look and changed the beer selection offering better products, while keeping the favourites for the locals.”
