CONISTON tennis team completed a league and cup double after fending other competitors from across Barrow.
With the Barrow & District Tennis League finishing at Hawcoat Park on Saturday, the almost 30-man strong team beat their hosts and runners-up 102 games to 73.
Broughton tennis club finished in third place overall on a day that saw unexpectedly high temperatures force all teams to rotate to combat the humid conditions.
The team thanked the organisers at Hawcoat Park for putting on the final, as well as the 'excellent spread' provided afterwards.
Hawcoat Park Chairman presented Coniston’s Peter Helme with the trophy. The Coniston team was made up of John Bell, Steve Bushell, Richard Byles, Dan Johnson, Peter Helme, Mike Code and Jeff Atkinson.
