St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston has received a £84,000 donation from Furness Building Society this week.
The sum came about through their Affinity Account Scheme, which encourages customers to support local charities.
Each year, a donation of 0.5% of the average total balance in all Affinity Accounts linked with the hospice is given, resulting in this year's total of £84,011.30.
Annabelle Holloway, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the hospice, said: "We are delighted to have received another incredibly generous donation from the Furness Building Society as part of their Affinity Account Scheme.
"Their continued support is hugely appreciated and this money will make a huge difference to our hospice."
Maintaining the services at the charity costs £2.4 million every year, with nearly £2 million of that needing to be raised from the public.
"We only receive 20% of our funding from the NHS which means that the care of roughly 8 out of 10 of our patients is funded by individuals, groups and businesses such as the Furness Building Society.
"This donation will cover our entire costs across all of our services for almost a full week."
On social media, the hospice thanked the business for making a real difference in the lives of those in need.
The branch manager who presented the team with this year's cheque, Helen Mason, added: "Every year we look forward to handing over a cheque to St Mary's.
"This local charity is always there whenever you might need them and that's so reassuring to know."
St Mary's is not the only charity supported by the business, with Affinity Accounts also being linked with initiatives including Barrow AFC and Barrow Raiders community projects.
The hospice can be found on Ford Park Crescent in Ulverston, and you can support the team with your own donation here.
