AN OWNER of American bully XL dogs has shared his experience with the breed.
Wayne Quirk, from Barrow, who has been an XL bully owner and dog handler for more than ten years, said it is unfair to blame a breed for 'one's doing wrong.'
It comes after an 11-year-old girl was attacked in the Bordesley Green area in Birmingham on Saturday.
Ana Paun suffered shoulder and arm injuries in the attack by an American bully XL and Staffordshire bull terrier crossbreed puppy.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman is pushing for a ban on American bully XL dogs, arguing they are a 'clear and lethal danger', particularly to children.
Cabinet minister announced she has commissioned 'urgent advice' on outlawing the dogs after she highlighted an 'appalling' attack on the girl.

Mr Quirk said: "First it was the pitbull, the fila, the dogo and the tosa. Then moving onto the XL bully. When they succeed what breed is next?
"So, are your dobermans, rottweilers, mastiffs, English bull terriers all safe? No because once they ban the XL they will come for the next breed.
"All breed shaming should sit back, look at your lovely little pooch and think what breed it is then research your dog and what it was bred for because nine times out of 10 they are bred for a job or purpose.
"Yet the breed that is a companion breed with no working title or reason other than a companion dog was created no more than 20 years ago. That being said the proper bullies have no natural instinct to harm anybody.
"Wake up don't judge a book by its cover and don't blame a breed for one's wrongdoing."
