Police investigating the death of a man in Barrow have confirmed that the circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.
Police were contacted at 9.55pm on Saturday by the North West Ambulance Service, who were responding to an incident where a man was found with head injuries near to The Owl and Pussycat pub, Walney Road.
The man, aged in his 40s from Barrow, was taken to Furness General Hospital. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The update follows extensive inquiries made by officers following the initial report, said police.
The deceased’s family has been informed and is being supported by police officers.
The coroner has been informed.
