Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance at a Lake District pub to the delight of the patrons.
The actor, made famous for his role as Wolverine in the Marvel movies, stopped for a visit at the Watermill Inn and Brewery in the village of Ings.
Taking time off from his work as the fictitious superhero, Jackman was kind enough to take a picture with staff members.
David McConville, the bar manager, said: "I can't believe that it was my day off and that I missed it.
"When I found out, I was absolutely gutted."
Jackman also came back to the pub in the evening to listen to the renowned story teller Taffy Thomas.
